This specialized tape, a combination of PTFE and glass materials, offers unique advantages that cater to the needs of different sectors.
Understanding PTFE Glass Tape
PTFE glass tape is a high-performance adhesive tape formed by impregnating woven fiberglass fabric with PTFE. This combination results in a tape that possesses remarkable properties such as heat resistance, electrical insulation, chemical inertness, and a non-stick surface.
Applications Across Industries
The versatility of PTFE glass tape allows for its application in diverse industries:
- Electrical and Electronics Industry: The tape serves as an insulator for wiring, cables, and electrical components due to its excellent dielectric properties. It ensures electrical safety and reliability.
- Packaging and Sealing: PTFE glass tape’s non-stick nature and heat resistance make it ideal for sealing machines, ensuring smooth and clean operations in packaging industries.
- Heat Sealing and Welding: It is utilized in heat sealing equipment to prevent sticking during welding and sealing processes, maintaining the integrity of the materials being joined.
- Aerospace and Automotive Sectors: The tape finds use in these industries for wire harnessing, providing protection and insulation against heat and harsh conditions.
Unique Benefits of PTFE Glass Tape
- Heat Resistance: PTFE glass tape can withstand high temperatures without losing its physical or electrical properties, making it suitable for demanding applications.
- Non-Stick Surface: The non-stick nature of the tape prevents adhesion, allowing for smooth and clean operations in various applications.
- Chemical Inertness: It is highly resistant to various chemicals, ensuring stability and reliability even in harsh environments.
- Electrical Insulation: The tape’s dielectric properties make it an excellent insulator for electrical components, ensuring safety in electrical applications.

Premium Grade PTFE Tape
This premium series of PTFE tape is manufactured by coating one side of our #502 fabric with a pressure sensitive adhesive. The fiberglass substrate has a tighter weave than that of standard grade material, and a higher PTFE content for maximum release properties. This series should be considered where performance is the main purchasing consideration.

Values shown are nominal and should not be used for writing specifications
You may also need:
- Rigging Tape
High modulus PTFE tape has less elongation and greater tensile strength than plain skived PTFE tape.
- PTFE Zone Tape
PTFE zone tape is primarily used in applications where it is not desirable for adhesive to come in contact with a heating element.
- PTFE Belts
PTFE belts and belting materials are available for applications that require superior release characteristics, and thermal stability
- PTFE Fabric
Our PTFE fabric consists of a fiberglass substrate which is then coated with PTFE. This combination provides a dimensionally strong non-stick surface
- Metal Detectable PTFE Tape
Metal detectable PTFE tape is ideal for food manufacturers who are packaging their products in poly bags. Tape that contaminates packaged food is detected
